Texas Self Storage Association San Antonio Convention Roundup

In October 2017, the Lockaway Storage team attended the TXSSA’s annual conference from October 18-20 in San Antonio, Texas. More than a dozen team members attended the three day event. The team attended many educational sessions and round tables. They were also able to share information with other self storage professionals in Texas. A team member was even featured in a panel discussion!

What the team had to say:

“There was an information session that talked about data that was collected from all over the state. It was pretty interesting. They’re trying to get people to share information and we, as Lockaway, have signed up to share information,” said the Manager at Lockaway Storage – Airport. “The real fun is at the round tables. They had 21 tables covering different topics. It’s kind of like speed dating. You pick you topic, go to your table, and share with other operators, owners, managers. The exchange of information flows very freely. It was very educational”

“It was really fun,” said the Executive Administrator for Self Storage Operations. “I always think it’s really exciting when we get together as an industry, especially getting to see our team members interact with other people in the industry that they wouldn’t normally get to interact with. There’s a family that owns some self storages here in town that I am really close to on a personal level and I got to see them several times during the week, so that is really exciting. I think the biggest thing the managers get out of this event is ideas. When you hear people confirm an idea you had or put a different spin on an idea, it’s really interesting. We’re just one company out of so many. We do things our way, but there are so many different ways to do things. We’re a very open company. We love input. We love learning.”
